Honda revealed the concept for their most recent model at the Geneva Motor Show. The Honda Civic Type R is probably going to be released next year and if it lives up to expectations of the concept then it will be one outstanding motor.
It has been nicknamed the “racing car for the road” and it isn’t hard to see why. The vehicle has been kitted out with a large rear wing, vent behind the rear wheel, dramatic wheel-arch with quad exhausts and a full-width diffuser. It basically resembles a vehicle that should be found on a track with sponsored stickers all over it.
The engine specifications have not been confirmed, but the Honda’s 2.0 liter turbocharged engine is likely to produce roughly 276bhp and 400Nm of torque. It is predicted that the Honda will be able to go from 0-62mph in roughly 6 seconds.
The Type R will probably come in Championship White even though the concept showed us a red type R that had gold specs. It showed WTCC driver Gabriele Tarquini testing the Type R prototype in a video as well.
The main rival is going to be the Ford Focus RS and the VW Golf R. The Honda Civic Type R is predicted to be released later on in 2014 with a price tag of roughly $30,000.
