2015 Hyundai i30 Striking Red Streak Reminds Us Of The Mercedes

This year, Hyundai will be launching the all-new i30 and the hatchback is going to adopt a styling that is different from its predecessors. A concept image of the i30 has already been launched online and consumers can get a rough idea on how it is going to look like.

When viewing the released images, the Hyundai i30 features a new radiator grille, front and rear bumper, new front LED design, and twin exhausts. Upon close observation, one can easily see a striking red line running across the lower bumper. This particular feature seems to be inspired from the Mercedes A-Class.

Inside the cabin, things are also neater. The red accents on the outside manage to feature on the interior too as it becomes part of the new sports front seats, steering wheel and the gear knob.

Under the hood, the i30 runs offers multiple engine options that are both powerful and fuel efficient. The entry level model is powered by a new Kappa engine that develops 100PS and 135Nm of torque while being mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then there is the 1.6L Gamma engine that develops 120PS and 156Nm of torque while being mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

There is also a diesel trim which offers a 1.6L diesel engine with two different tunes. The first produces 100PS while the second produces 136 PS. However, the torque for both tunes is the same at 280Nm when on a 6-speed manual and 300Nm when on a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Of course, the big dream is with the top-of-the-range i30 Turbo trim that runs on a powerful 1.6L turbocharged T-GDI Gamma engine that does 186PS and 265Nm of torque while being paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
