2015 Honda HR-V vs Jeep Renegade: Which Has More To Offer?

Both the Honda HR-V and Jeep Renegade were launched very recently and they are built to compete in the compact crossover segment that is currently dominated by the Nissan Juke. In order to challenge the Juke, both the HR-V and Renegade are equipped with many new features but which of two is better?

The Renegade, in particular, is powered by a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The HR-V, on the other hand, runs on the 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to a CVT transmission. The differences in performance between both vehicles are pretty narrow.

Despite coming with a smaller engine capacity, the Renegade is equipped with Jeep’s hallmark off-road technology. Together with the high ground clearance, the 4×4 is more than capable of driving in the wilderness and tough terrains with ease.

The HR-V, on the other hand, is built as something that consumers can depend on. It comes with Honda’s latest engine technology that aids in generating a whopping 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque, while also keeping fuel consumption at a record low.

It seems that the HR-V has got more to offer as it comes completed with adjustable driver seat headrest which is height adjustable and has 6 manual adjustments. In addition to that, the car features air filtration, front air conditioning, audio controls on the steering wheel along with cruise control, phone control and also steering wheel adjustments that are tilt and telescopic.

The offerings might differ between the Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. However, we have to name the HR-V as the winner here. After all, the Renegade’s off-road functions are only able to appeal a small section of the consumers.
