Today, we are going to explore on the purpose of the latest Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. This is because many have failed to understand that both compact SUVs are built for different target markets despite belonging in the same segment.
Starting with the Honda HR-V, the vehicle came out with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a CVT transmission. Just from the powertrain alone, it is pretty obvious that the HR-V is built as a fuel savvy vehicle that offers a no-nonsense performance and cheap daily running cost.
In addition to that, the HR-V is also affordable to own too. For Honda, the HR-V is the ideal compact SUV for general, everyday use due to its low fuel consumption, reliability and practicality.
The latest Jeep Renegade, on the other hand, has something very different to offer. Despite coming out with a beautiful-looking design, the Renegade is actually not meant for the urban lifestyle. The 1.4L turbocharged engine and 6-speed automatic transmission it runs on is not fuel savvy.
However, the Renegade brags about its 4WD lever that when engaged, allows the vehicle to climb mountains and race on muddy trails. The special thing about the Renegade is that the vehicle is the only compact SUV with the ability to off-road.
