2015 Honda HR-V vs Jeep Renegade: Compact SUVs Battle It Out

The Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade are two of the latest vehicles introduced in the compact SUV segment. While both vehicles might be different from each other, they have a common purpose of becoming the best SUV around. Between the two, which is better?

Looking at the Honda HR-V, the vehicle is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a CVT transmission. This enables it to generate 106ft-lbs of torque and 17hp more power than the Jeep Renegade.

Speaking of which, the latter is towed by a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. While it might not be as powerful or as efficient as the HR-V, the car is an off-road madness. The Renegade is equipped with Jeep’s off-road technologies, thus, making it the one and only off-road beast in the market.

Honda, on the other hand, explored the needs of an average city folk. The HR-V is the solution to everything as it comes completed with front air conditioning, air filtration, audio control on steering wheel with cruise control and more.

If a winner has to be named, we have decided to pick the Honda HR-V. After all, it is basically better, faster, more powerful and fuel efficient than the Jeep Renegade. Besides, the off-road market is not for everyone.
