Yesterday, we tested out the latest Ford Focus hatchback. In detail, we took out the Titanium model out for a spin. The vehicle we drove was powered by a 2L 4-cylinder engine and this is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Everything about the Focus is slendid. The fact that the engine is able to generate about 160hp and 146ft-lbs of torque made the hatchback extra fun to play with. The Focus simply handles itself well as it is able to take on the turns and corners with ease.
Despite all the excitement, we encountered one major flaw with the Focus hatchback. It is with the final drive ratio that is fixed at 3.82. This somehow limits the Focus from going insane when on the highway. The solution to this is simple and it is the sixth-gear.
Well, a 6-speed manual gearbox will indeed come to the Focus but on the RS model. The thing is that the Focus RS won’t be arriving until Q4 this year and we can’t wait for it.
