The latest generation Ford Fiesta is still one of the most talked about mini-hatchback around. This cannot be helped as many are simply in love with the due to its ability to offer great fuel economy and power output.
The credits belong to the EcoBoost engine which is built together with a turbocharger and direct-injection. After waiting for so long, we finally landed behind the wheel of the Fiesta.
To be more precise, we tested out the Ford Fiesta ST, which is currently the range-topping performance model. So instead of experiencing the award-winning 1L unit, we manage to get a ful fell of the 197hp 1.6L EcoBoost motor. The engine makes a whopping 202ft-lbs of torque and is driven on the FWD system.
Without a second delay, we started sprinting on the Fiesta ST. There is no point to do a drag with the car since its specialty lies with the curvy roads. There, we drove like a maniac and were surprised with how the Fiesta ST is able to handle itself.
We didn’t suffer any understeer or oversteer with the vehicle and this is possibly due to the auto brakes which ensure that the front wheels and rear wheels are able to work in cohesion.
The test drive also gave us the guts to name the Fiesta ST as one of our personal favourite vehicles. Imagine a Porsche that is not in the luxury market. That is basically how the Fiesta ST is.
