The most recent Ford Edge Concept exposed a promising flagship SUV for Europe, much like a Santa Fe.
Production on the Edge may begin in 2015 and it could be cross between a Kuga midi-SUV and a EcoSport compass crossover. There have been rumors speculating that this most recent car is going to be using a new Mondeo/Fusion platform.
The appearance of the SUV is incredibly sophisticated with BMW style air curtain in the front bumper and the aerodynamic front fascia. The SUV is also going to include Ford’s Active Grille Shutters which have been made to help control the engine temperature whilst increasing the ability of the aerodynamic.
There is a 10 inch touchscreen display on the inside which will include the Ford SYNC and also Ford’s Voice Control functions. Beneath the display there is a big range of buttons which are used to control the rest of the car. The car also includes an Obstacle Avoidance system and a Fully Assisted Parking Aid. The Obstacle Avoidance system tells drivers when there are incoming obstacles and it will steer and brake the car automatically if the driver has not seen them. The Fully Assisted Parking Aid helps drivers to maneuver in and out of a parking space.
