2015 Chevy Colorado: The Greenest Pickup Truck Alive

The Chevrolet Colorado is still a month away from its release but that didn’t stop the car manufacturer from releasing the EPA fuel economy ratings for the highly anticipated pickup truck.

Chevrolet stole the headlines yet again after revealing the miles-per-gallon figures for the entry level, V6-powered Colorado earlier today. In short, the vehicle is about 3-5mpg better than every other pickup truck from the same segment.

In detail, the 2WD Colorado that runs on the 305-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine returns 18/21/26mpg (city/combined/highway). Then, there is the AWD variant that returns 17/20/24mpg.

While this might sound great, it is only going to get better in 2016 when Chevrolet launches the 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel Colorado. The American carmaker teased that it is going to be the most fuel efficient pickup truck in the line-up.

Chevrolet’s Marketing Manager, Tony Johnson, revealed that the Colorado offers the best EPA fuel economy in a fun-to-drive, easy-to-own package. The lad added that this was accomplished thanks to the many innovations on the Colorado like the active grille shutters, which is combined with an aerodynamic design in a smaller, more manoeuvrable package.

The Colorado seems to be enjoying its time on the limelight, even when it is not released yet. Well, the truck truly deserves every second of it as long as it delivers what is expected by both Chevrolet and the masses.
