2014 Jeep Wrangler Review: Something For The Thrill Seekers

Jeep released an all-new Wrangler late last year and it came with a different structure. Previously, the Wrangler had 2-doors and drives on the petrol engines. Now, the Wrangler has 4-doors and is also offered with a diesel powertrain.

We tested the Wrangler 2.8 CRD Sahara auto 4d which retails at £27,595. Like its name, the Wrangler is powered by a 2.8L 4-cylinder diesel engine that generates 197hp and 339lb-fts of torque. This enables the car to sprint from knots to 62mph in 13.5 seconds. Also, the Wrangler has a top speed of 107mph.

On the downside of things, the Wrangler is not something for long distance driving. We did enjoy the soft top that can be folded to give off a nice cruising feel. However, the lack of power and poor driving feel makes it a pain on the highways. Also, it doesn’t help when drivers has a poor fuel consumption rate of 34mpg.

Despite all that, we did love one thing about the Wrangler and it is the off-road experience. The Wrangler runs to the thick bushes like a ramping bulldozer and it left a big wide smile on our faces. We actually came across a gentle river and cross it barbarically.

The Jeep Wrangler is truly and amazing vehicle but its good side is only limited to off-road expeditions. If you’re an adventurer, then the Wrangler is something worth looking at.
