2014 BMW X5 Review: Alas, A Luxury SUV That Desires To Go Green

There is clearly a problem with BMW because every time it releases the X5, they always grow bigger. The latest model arrive a couple of months ago and it is certainly a big step up from its predecessors.

Like how it is with other BMW vehicles, the all-new X5 comes with a variety of engine options. We tested out the 4WD X5 that is powered by the xDrive30d and were extremely pleased by its offering. In figures, the X5 generated 258hp while returning unbelievable fuel ratings of 45mpg.

Despite that fact, the X5 can still sprint from 0-100km/h in just 6.9seconds. This is obviously an improvement from the previous model, which recorded an acceleration of more than 7 seconds. Furthermore, the fact that the X5 is a 4WD vehicle eliminates our worries of taking the car on a simple off-road adventure. Then again, consumers shouldn’t go to the extreme with the X5 since it is no Range Rover.

The interior too has vastly improved. We were impressed by the X5’s sound insulators as it idoes a superb job in keeping the noise away from sneaking inside the cabin.

Of course, he X5 is unable to rival the performance of the Porsche SUVs. Regardless, it is able to offer consumers a reliable and trustworthy SUV that excels off and on the road. The bottom line is that the latest BMW X5 is a perfect all-rounder.
