There is no denying that Google’s Gmail it the most popular email service provider around. Apple iOS 7 users with a Gmail application can now breathe a sigh of relief as the bug that has been plaguing the Gmail app is now fixed.

iOS 7 Gmail users have been complaining on emails not consistently updated on the app. As such, the users are forced to manually refresh their email to see for an update list of mails in their inbox.

Following this update to the Gmail application, the emails will be automatically retrieved, even when the app is not running. To enjoy this feature, users must manually activate Gmail notifications under their device’s system settings.

The announcement was made by Google’s software engineer, Melissa Dominguez, who confirmed that the update will give the Gmail app the ability to do background refresh. All new emails will then be pre-fetched and synchronized. When the user opens up Gmail, it will be there without needing to manually refresh.

The iPhone & iPad users will never have to suffer an email delay ever again.
