With the price tag of the Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C dropping bells are ringing for the release of the iPhone 6.
Several retailers in the US have lowered the price tag of the Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Walmart were the first to start sales and they have the iPhone 5C on offer for $27 with a two year contract. You would have had to pay out $99 before the price drop. The iPhone 5C only arrived in September last year so the price drop is unusual.
The iPhone 5C was offered by Walmart in October with a price tag of $79 and it dropped down to $45 shortly after the Black Friday sale, where it came in at $45 with a gift card of $75.
We have also heard that Walmart had the iPhone 5S on for $199 and this has now come down to $127. There is a great deal on the 16GB version of the Apple iPad Mini as this is being offered for $299 and it comes with a $50 gift card. These were the prices from December onwards.
Best Buy had the Apple iPhone 5 on for $124 and again this was with a two year contract. It gave savings of $75. It was also said that Mac Mall were offering the Apple iPhone 5S 16GB for $120 and the 16GB iPhone 5C was offered at just $20.
Retailers do usually drop prices down as it is coming up to the holidays and just after but Apple usually has tight control over the SRP. Unusually the price tags of the iPhone 5C have been dropping since the handsets release.
It has been said that the drop in price could be down to the fact Apple are getting ready to reveal the Apple iPhone 6, but this is something that is always speculated every year. Rumour has it that the Apple iPhone 6 could arrive with a larger display, possibly about 4.8 to 6 inches. We did hear talk of it having the M7 graphics and 64 bit processor and of course the fingerprint scanner that Apple has just introduced. A new patent has revealed that the Apple may be considering a curved display for the iPhone 6 and possibly a re-focusable light camera.
