We have heard rumours going around that Apple are about to break into larger displays with the release of the Apple iPhone 6. It has also been said that they will launch two versions of the iPhone this year and both of these will be bigger than the iPhone 5S. UBS analyst Steve Milunovich said that Apple will offer handsets with a 4.7 inch display and 5.5 inch display when they announce the iPhone 6.
The 4.7 inch version of the iPhone 6 could be revealed in August or September, but Apple might or might not reveal the 5.5 inch version at the same time. The 5.5 inch display could be the same resolution as the 4.7 inch, which would mean lower ppi but this would help developers who don’t have the worry of fragmentation.
The analyst predicted that the iPhone 6 would sell well as many owners of the iPhone 5 will be ready to upgrade their handsets. He went on to say that Apple could offer the bigger version of the iPhone 6 with a higher price tag. This would be in-line with a report from earlier this month that Apple could charge around $300 with contract for an iPhablet which would offer a display of 5 inches or more.
