Media sources in South Korea have said that we may see the arrival of the LG G3 May 17. The LG G2 was released in August last, so May could be a little too early for the release of its successor. It would also arrive well ahead of the rumoured data of release for the Samsung Galaxy S5, but would follow the HTC One+ which has been said to be coming in February.
The last two handsets to come from LG have been used as the base for the Google Nexus and Nexus 5, so there is a good chance that the LG G3 may be used for the Nexus 6 this year.
The LG G2 didn’t sell as well as expected and this could be one reason why LG may consider revealing its successor. The LG G3 should arrive with specs that are a huge leap ahead if it is to compete against the Samsung Galaxy S5. We have heard that the LG G3 may have a QHD display 2k of 5 inches with 2560 x 1440 resolution. There could be a camera of 16MP and this may have optical image stabilisation along with an octa-core processor. The LG G3 has been rumoured for May 17 in comparison to the LG G2 which came out in September. It has been said that it will go up against the Samsung Galaxy S5 which may arrive in March.
Another device it would have to compete against is the HTC One+, however suggestions are that this will only be a modest boost with slightly better specs that the HTC One. LG fans have wondered if they will see the LG G Pro 2 and this may arrive at the MWC in Barcelona and rumour has it that the handset may arrive with a 5.9 inch QHD display, this would be in competition with the display of the LG G Flex.
