Google Nexus 10 2 Misinformation Clarified: Is Samsung Or ASUS On It?

It seems that the Google Nexus 10 2 release date has once again been the subject of a hoax when @evleaks posted photos sent by someone who had given him a tip through Twitter. There has been many hoaxes and leaks about the follow up tablet since Amir Efrati cited Sundar Pichai back in July. Despite leaks and hoaxes there hasn’t been any confirmation that Google are about to launch a follow up to the Google Nexus 10, however there has been renewed speculation recently when the Google Nexus 10 32GB along with the 16GB was out of stock over at the Google Play Store.

The hoax arrived online just a day after the 32GB version of the Nexus 10 went out of stock and there hasn’t been an indication as to when it may arrive back in stock. We saw something along the same lines when the Nexus 4 8GB and 16GB went out of stock just weeks before the arrival of the Nexus 5. The same happened with the 2012 version of the Nexus 7 to make way for the 2013 version of the Nexus 7. Phandroid, @evleaks and Pocket-Lint all got taken in by the hoax of the release date for the Google Nexus 10, but then corrected things. The tipster had said that the Nexus 10 would be made by Samsung, which went against earlier indications that LG or ASUS would make the tablet. Along with this the tipster uploaded photos of what they said was the Nexus 10 2014, looking a lot like the Nexus 10.

Along with the photos came information about the specs. It was said that the Nexus 10 2014 would have a display of 10 inches by Samsung, it would have the Exynos 5 processor, a WQXGA display of 2560 x 1600. It would arrive with 3GB of RAM and storage options of 16GB and 32GBm a camera of 5MP and 3MP. These of course are roughly what can be found on the Nexus 10 at the moment, apart from an increase in RAM the specs are not that different. One of the most unlikely specs of the hoax was that the Nexus 10 2014 would have Android 4.5 installed. The hoax was uncovered when @evleaks found that other websites had been sent the same information with just some minor changes about the release date for the Nexus 10 2014.
