Once again fans of the Nexus 10 2 have been the subject of a hoax from @evleaks put out some photos of what was said to be the device from someone that gave them a tip on Twitter. We have seen a great deal of hoaxes about what is said to be the follow up tablet. We haven’t seen any confirmation from Google about a launch of the follow up to the Google Nexus 10, but recently there has been talk of a new tablet after the Google Nexus 10 32GB and the 16GB both went out of stock.
It seems that the hoax made its appearance online just one day following the Nexus 10 going out of stock. We haven’t heard from Google about when it will be back in stock. We saw the same thing arise with the Nexus 5s arrival when the Nexus 4 went out of stock for both versions. It also happened in 2012 with the Nexus 7 when the 2013 version was coming out. @evleaks, Phandroid and Pocket Lint were all taken in with the hoax but then made retractions. It was said that Samsung would be behind the Nexus 10 2, but earlier there were rumours going around that LG or ASUS could be behind the tablet. The tipster also uploaded photos of the Nexus 10 2014, but it looked very much like the current version.
There was also news about specs of the tablet. These pointed to the Nexus 10 2 having a Samsung display of 10 inches, the Exynos 5 processor, display of 256 x 1600 and 3GB of RAM. It was also said that it would be available in choices of 16GB and 32GB, plus offer a camera of 5MP and 3MP. These specs are very much like those of the Nexus 10 out at the moment. @evleaks found out this was a hoax when the same information went around different websites with minor changes.
