Samsung Galaxy S4 Unlock Code Outed, Compaitble With Few Other Models Too

Anyone with a locked version of the Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2 or 3 will be interested in knowing about an unlock code that has leaked which has been used for some time to unlock a variety of Samsung handsets. When the device has been unlocked the owner can then use it with virtually any SIM card and anywhere in the world.

If you bought your device with Verizon on contract for instance then the device can only be used with a SIM card from Verizon. When unlocked this is not the case and any SIM would work in the handset.

Anyone wanting to unlock their Samsung device should remove the SIM card and put one back in from a different carrier. The device should then be switched off and back on again.

The dialler pad should be opened and the following should be entered. *#197328640#. Go to your main menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3] Perso SHA256 OFF. Wait for 30 seconds or a minute before going back to your main menu and choosing “back”. You will now see a “Network Lock” message. Choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ.

If you typed in the sequence right, it should read: “Asterisk Pound One Nine Seven Three Two Eight Six Four Zero Pound”. Remember that some people call the asterisk “star”, and the pound button “hash”.

The device should now be unlocked and any SIM card can then be used in the device. This is a code that Samsung have used for quite some time on various handsets.
