Subaru had a lot of time to play around with the Subaru WRX STI but it is now time to get serious because their competition is obviously not messing around anymore. With rivals like the Ford Focus RS, the WRX STi really needs to nail it this time around.
The current Subaru WRX STI comes in with a 305hp engine. While the number itself is not that bad, bear in mind that the Subaru WRX STi was offering about 300hp when it first arrives many years ago.
Some fans are hoping that Subaru will fit the Subaru WRX STI with a new engine this time around. Possibly the 2.0-liter turbo engine that will allow the Subaru WRX STi to deliver at least 323hp when it arrives.
The Ford Focus RS currently comes with a 2.3-liter engine that will be offering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. With new features like the new Drift Mode, the WRX STi is not going to have an easy time going up against it.
