It is no secret that Bethesda tends to develop the Fallout series by taking inspiration and resources from The Elder Scrolls franchise. This is evident when Fallout 3 was produced with elements from Elder Scrolls Oblivion.
If the pattern is to follow, then Bethesda will surely look up to Skyrim when producing Fallout 4. This is something Fallout fans wouldn’t want as it would mean dumbing down the highly anticipated sequel.
In other words, Fallout 4 is at risk of being unrealistic and senseless so that it will be more approachable and appealing to a wider gaming audience.
The term dumbing down best describe Skyrim as it allows players to become head of guilds without even possessing the necessary skills for it. Despite the fact that Skyrim offers a vast sandbox world to play in, it failed to be immersive as the game boasts bad writing and a non-in-depth choice and influence mechanism.
Obviously, no Fallout fan would want to experience such a thing in Fallout 4 but it is likely to happen. After all, a more approachable game will make it rain profits for Bethesda and that is the goal for the company.
