Last year, Subaru became the centre of a huge buzz after the Japanese carmaker launched the all-new WRX STI. Now, this powerful sports sedan has found itself in a standing quarter mile race with the Porsche Cayman.
It is difficult to understand the need of such a race as both vehicles are from different segment. Regardless, the world is able to witness a good old tussle between a nice car and a luxury car.
The specs sheet tells us that the WRX STi is powered by a 2.5L turbocharged F4 engine while being mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This allows it to generate 305hp and 290lb-fts of torque.
The Porsche Cayman, on the other hand, is powered by a 2.7L F6 engine that is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This generates 275hp and 213lb-ft of torque.
Judging from the figures, it seems that the WRX STI is more powerful than the Porsche Cayman. However, the race is not based on papers and it is best for you to check it out above. The minute and a half long clip is full of surprises and every second is worth the watch.
