Mazda recently took the covers off the new Mazda CX-9. The new people hauler came with a few exterior upgrades but that was not the only upgrade it was offered. Under the hood was the 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that might also be fitted into the other Mazda models including the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3.
Most people would not say no to more power so we are going to guess that most people would be happy that the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 will be offering a few more extra ponies when it arrives in the future.
According to Mazda, the new 2.5 liters turbocharged four-cylinder engine fits in a lot of their cars and that it was made to occupy the same space as the other engines. Since it fits, it could mean that Mazda could offer the engine on their Mazda 6 if they want to but that does not mean that it will be coming for sure. It is all up to Mazda now.
The 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine will be offering about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.
