2015 Honda HR-V vs Jeep Renegade: Looking At The Differences

The subcompact crossover market is currently the biggest trend worldwide. Now, the segment has recruited two new vehicles and they are the Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. Both vehicles are great but they are actually built with different offerings.

The HR-V, in particular, is produced to cater the city folks. The vehicle runs on a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a CVT transmission which produces 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque. This is to ensure a smooth performance that is also fuel economical at the same time.

Furthermore, the HR-V is also a comfortable ride as it comes completed with features like air filtration, front air conditioning, audio controls on the steering wheel along with cruise control, phone control and steering wheel adjustments.

As for the Jeep Renegade, it runs on the 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that is very powerful in torque. Despite that fact, the Renegade feels underpowered when on the road. Off the roads however, the vehicle is simply a beast.

The Renegade comes equipped with Jeep’s hallmark off-roading technology to ensure that it is capable of climbing the mountains, crossing the rivers and drifting in the dunes. This actually contradicts with the Renegade’s design which looks like a beautiful general compact SUV.

With that being said, both vehicles have different specialties. If you are an off-road enthusiast, there is no better option than the Jeep Renegade. Otherwise, you can opt for the Honda HR-V.
