The recently released Honda Accord might be a great saloon but to the masses, it is just a small-time upgrade from previous model. Then again, the new Accord is still one of the best cars around as it offers more comfort than before.
For starters, the Accord offers more room for the driver and the passenger. Furthermore, drivers can pull down the rear seat to free up more space. However, the rear seats can’t be folded individually, which means that folding them down will sacrifice the rear passenger seats. The front seats come with heated cushions with memory. It also adds in 8-way power adjustment for the driver.
The other great thing about the new Accord is it’s 2.4L 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine that produces 185hp. It is operated with CVT transmission, which is more fuel efficient and offers a faster acceleration.
Then, there is the LaneWatch system which utilizes sensors to scan the blind spot areas. The live surround scan will be projected on the Accord infotainment system which will lessen the risk of accidents.
On the downside of things, the side mirrors can surely give the drivers a headache. The new convex driver’s side mirror has a thin black line that splits the surface. While it was meant to expand the viewing angle, drivers can be caught seeing doubles and get dizzy for it. In addition to that, the three-level centre stack can be really distracting and requires some getting used to.
Aside from that, everything about the Accord is absolute brilliant. Honda Accord is probably a better car than the Mazda6, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, and Volkswagen Passat.
