We can expect Apple to make an announcement about the iPhone 5 along with giving a date for release, sometime in the fall reports GottaBeMobile. The blog goes on to suggest that while we have no idea of the actual release date we do have some indication of what to expect when the date comes around.
iPhone 5: what to expect from Apple this year
The handset is rumored to come with support for 4G LTE and have the iOS 6 running it. It has also been suggested that the phone would have a 4 inch display and it will have a thinner design and possibly a new camera to make the most of FaceTime over cellular.
Additionally, many rumors have suggested that the release date for the iPhone 5 will be in the fall and this could turn out to be true. Other reports have said that the phone will be released in August or September. October is more realistic as this is when the iPhone 4S was launched last year. Apple is generally creatures of habit which does suggest October. They have always launched their phones on a yearly cycle and there is nothing to suggest that this year will be any different.
Being able to predict the hardware of Apple is difficult before the launch of their handsets but one thing we do believe is that the phone would be available for pre-ordering shortly after they announce its release. Quite possibly Apple will have the phone for sale on the day of the launch. This is very different from say Samsung, who have staggered their launch and who have different in store and online launch dates. Just take the US Samsung Galaxy S3 models right now as an example. T-Mobile and Sprint have them while those on AT&T and Verizon are still waiting for theirs.
It is thought that when the phone is launched T-Mobile will not have the phone straight away. One of the main reasons being that we are expecting the phone to have support for 4G LTE and at the moment this is not something that T-Mobile offers, but maybe some months down the line they could have it. However it is expected on the three major US carriers which include AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. These all have the previous model and they all have the 4G LTE connection up and running. So they seem prepped to take on the iPhone 5 this fall no questions asked.
Of course interest in the iPhone 5 will not be short, especially if the phone does come with support for 4G LTE and has a larger screen and new design. It could have one of these but if it has them all then this could be enough to start a frenzy reports GBM. If you want to be one of the first to get your hands on the phone you may wish to pre-order from one of the carriers early. This of course is a given as every iPhone launch has shown.
