World’s Cheapest Quad-Core Android Phone Launched

Meizu recently announced their first quad core Android smartphone, the MX-4core in Hong Kong. They had gotten together with a local carrier, PCCW mobile, along with a local smartphone seller to host the launch ceremony at the luxury W Hotel, reported MicGadget.

The party saw a lot of celebrities from Hong Kong arriving with hot chicks and they got invitations to promote the new quad core phone that comes with the voice function of Meizu MX. There was numerous media from Hong Kong and China attending and models showed off the phone on stage. Hong Kong celebrities who attended the event were presented with the MX4 core as well.

Journalists were able to try out the features on the phone and one Android user compared the handset to his own phone along with testing it with benchmark software. Staff of Meizu were seen playing a racing game on the handset to show how smooth the handset is when connected up to a TV.

The handset will come in 32GB and 64GB versions in the Meizu store and is thought to be priced at 3,099 HKD (around $400) making it the cheapest quad-core Android smartphone on the market rightnow. The same event saw the announcement of Meizu Flyme 1.0 which is a customized Android ROM.

The Meizu MX-4core joins other quad-core phones like the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 on the market. No word yet on whether it is possible to get your hands on one in the US just yet.
