Microsoft unveiled the latest addition to their family, tablets by the name of Surface. The tablets come in two versions, one which comes with a full featured installation of Windows 8 Pro and the other with Windows RT for mobile processors. The Surface is Microsoft’s answer to the New iPad ‘3’. But how does the Surface compare to what has been known as the high selling game changer from Apple?
New iPad 3 vs Microsoft Surface tablet
To begin with, both versions of the Surface tablet are large devices. The screens of both come in at 10.6 inches and according to the press material of Microsoft, they are both HD resolution. So they certainly have size over Apple’s iPad. However the iPad does win in the weight category as the Surface tablets are much heavier. The Windows RT version is 1.5 pounds against the 1.44 pounds of the iPad. The Pro model of the Surface comes in even heavier at almost 2 pounds.
There is a difference with internal storage. The Windows Pro of the Surface can be purchased with a 128GB hard drive. This could be a welcome addition due to the fact that the robust equipped version does have a more powerful laptop compatible processor.
At the moment the prices have not been announced so it will be interesting to see how much the Pro model costs for all that storage. If you are debating on a new tablet you may want to take a look at the table put together by FoxNews below to see how the Microsoft Surface compares to the iPad 3.
