Android Has Everything iOS 6 Does But Won’t ‘Just Work’

While Android has all the features and more of the recently announced iOS 6, you do have to bear in mind that it also has flaws. As ZDNet explains, most Android users saw the features Apple had unveiled with iOS 6 and found it reminiscent of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

iOS 6 vs Android 4.0 ICS

ZDNet however goes on to explain that the principal researcher of ExtremeLabs, Tom Henderson, has pointed out that Apple have the “Schwarzchild” radius surrounding them. Rather than being a reality distortion field, it is a totally new dimension where inside time slows down and light can never escape. Fans of Apple have always been massaged, coddle and stroked until they begin to believe in the distortions and the beauty of the wide range of products while unknowingly they offer their time, money, privacy and soon their souls. On saying this Android fans can also be blinded to the faults almost as much as those who worship Apple.

While there is no getting away from the fact that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich does have everything that will eventually show up on iOS 6 (Apple boasts over 200 new features in iOS 6), only 7.1% of Android devices run ICS. Many Android fans around the world complain that they cannot update their device. This applies all over the device spectrum with such as Motorola, Samsung and HTC to name a few. The reason behind this is that not all users of Android are able to root their phones and secondly the firmware does not always work with some devices. It also does not have support for all tablets, including the Nook tablet from Barnes & Noble and when support is there, there may be problems with drivers as seen with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 where the camera wont work.

Consistency is another problem, with devices running the Android platform there is no consistency and due to this, users are never sure what they may be getting (hardware defers from one Android phone to the other). So while ICS does have all the features of iOS 6, with Apple it “just works” as their slogan says, while often this is not the case for implementations on Android.

ZDNet ends by concluding that iOS 6 will be clean and polished, while Android is often messy. Check out ZDNet’s full take on iOS 6 versus Android 4.0 at the source link below and do share your views of it.
