Just last week, Ford launched the all-new Mustang and up until today, 53 units have got an owner. Unfortunately, the 53 Mustangs have to return to its stable as the stallion appears to have suffered from malfunctioning equipment on its safety features.
The recall was announced earlier today by Ford after the American carmaker is notified of an issue with the belt-buckle tension sensor which failed to be calibrated during the assembly process. This is really important as a faulty sensor can lead to improper airbag deployment, which can also prove to be fatal for the passenger.
On the bright side of things, there has yet to be any injuries or death caused by this mishap. Every Mustang owners are already notified via their personal contacts although it is worrying to learn that three models have been shipped to Canada.
Nevertheless, Mustang owners shouldn’t take this lightly and head down to the nearest service centre and get the parts checked. If the sensor is faulty, then they will automatically be replaced at no charge.
