Believe it or not but the Tesla Model S is actually faster than how its manufacturer described it to be. A recent run of tests for the Model S revealed that it has a faster acceleration time than what its brochure says.
The acceleration test was conducted several times and the Tesla Model S consistently achieves a faster time than its specified time. In detail, the Performance 85 version achieved 3.9 seconds when sprinting from 0-60mph. This is 0.5 seconds faster than the quoted acceleration time.
That’s not all. The Performance 85 Model S managed to spring tall the way from knots to 110.84mph at just 12.371 seconds. This was achieved on a fully charged P85.
As for the normal 60kWh Model S, it consistently achieves 5.1 seconds on a 0-60mph dash. In addition to that, the car can hit 100mph in just 12.8 seconds. When on the quarte-mile test, it took the Model S 13.7 seconds as it hits 102.8mph.
This may sound unbelievable at first but it is downright true. If you are doubtful, you can check out the test video here.
It is unsure what Tesla is thinking. This could either be a miscalculation or bad marketing decision for Tesla. At least, the test revealed something positive on the Model S instead of the negative side of things.
