It seems that the Evad3rs were working quietly in the background and they did release a jailbreak for iOS 7.1. This was at first credited to Winocm, but it seems that the Evad3rs did have a hand in the jailbreak. This is good news of course, but the jailbreak does only work with certain versions of the Apple iPhone.
Alphawired was talking about the iOS 7.1 jailbreak and the fact that it is only compatible with the Apple iPhone 4. This is due to the fact of the processor. The iPhone 5 for instance has the A5 processor and this has proven to be harder to break into.
Some people couldn’t wait and made the update to iOS 7.1 and there isn’t a jailbreak for the newer phones. It is looking as though they could have to wait for the release of iOS 8.
So for the time being the iOS 7.1 jailbreak is somewhat limited, however the fact that there is one is a positive sign. The jailbreakers have not lost the battle completely. If you own the iPhone 4 then you can jailbreak iOS 7.1, if not then you will have to wait.
