It has already been confirmed that the latest Sports Sedan Concept from Nissan, will be the base model for the next-gen Maxima. The study was unveiled in numerous Motoring events already and it consistently left the viewers drooling in excitement with its sublime design.
On the downside of things, the Maxima won’t be looking 100% like the SSC. Nissan claims that they will keep the Maxima’s design as close as possible to the final concept, which means that the vehicle will be a slightly toned down version of the study.
Nevertheless, we can expect the Maxima to come with the same styling that consists of a new front grille with the V shaped chrome bar, boomerang-shaped LED headlamps and a floating roof. Some of the design elements like the latter is believed to have come from the Nissan GT-R.
Over in the interior, we noticed that the SSC comes with a new-looking dashboard. It is more angular, like those on the Ford Mustang. Also, the Maxima will surely feature the Friend-ME system, together with the infotainment screen.
While Nissan has yet to go into details with the Maxima, we can expect the vehicle to be powered by a 3.5L V6 engine. The car will drive on the RWD system, but will come with the option of an AWD system as well.
If the above is to materialize, then the Maxima will surely be competing with the Dodge Charger, Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet SS and Toyota Avalon when it gets released.
