Let’s face it, not everybody is a fan of Samsung’s TouchWiz. Despite the fact that Samsung had just unveiled the latest Galaxy S5 recently, a portion of the consumers have been hoping for a Google Play edition of the smartphone. That wish might just come true.
Looking back at the predecessor, the Galaxy S4, Google caught the world by surprise after rolling out a Google Play version of the smartphone. Even flagship devices from other manufacturers are also taken in by Google. This includes the likes of HTC One, Xperia Z and Moto G. The trend is not expected to end there. As such, a Google Play Galaxy S5 is highly anticipated by the fans.
It is no secret that Samsung is trying to stamp its identity on the OS even if the company is Android-operated. This move by the Korean company is a positive one but not every consumer like it. All these folks ever wanted are a powerful device that runs on stock Android. They wish to do away with all the unneeded functions and features. Due to this, the Google Edition of the Galaxy S5 is needed to meet these demands.
Looking at last year’s pattern of release with the Galaxy S4, the Google Play edition came about 4 months after the original release. It is expected to be the same with the Galaxy S5. Since it will be released in April 11, the Google Play edition should be available by August this year.
All in all, the consumers are definitely split on this one. It is great to have a variety of the same product as it fits every demands and preferences of the consumers.
