Samsung Galaxy S4 KitKat Features Not As Upfront As Thought

While Samsung haven’t confirmed the KitKat 4.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy S4, there are some things that suggest an update may be on the way. Google revealed KitKat 4.4 in September but they didn’t say too much about it.

KitKat 4.4 began to rollout for the Nexus devices in November of last year and then started to make its journey onto other handset. While KitKat 4.4 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 started to roll out, Samsung have remained quiet about it arriving on the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Rumours were going around that the KitKat 4.4 version for the Samsung Galaxy S4 would be the same as that of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but it is looking as though this may not be the case. SFR the French carrier said that the rollout would start to happen in January or February. SamMobile on the other hand put the dates as being between February and March. The web site said that KitKat 4.4 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 was in testing.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 waiting for the KitKat 4.4 update may want to check out the state the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 KitKat 4.4 update is in as it is thought that the process could be similar.

Samsung is known to push out updates in stages and these are typically slow. At the moment KitKat 4.4 is being rolled out in Poland and the rest of the world should follow on soon. Owners of the handset with carriers typically have to wait for some time for the updates, so it is not thought that owners of the handset in the US will get the update just yet.

Samsung have not made announcements about software updates in the past and they didn’t make any announcements about the KitKat 4.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, so it’s possible the same will happen with the Samsung Galaxy S4.
