Sony will be looking to make the most out of its latest, Playstation 4. The state-of-the-art console from the Japanese tech giant is about to take a stroll down memory lane.
It appears that Sony will be bringing back games from the PS1 and PS2 to the latest PS4. Fans are wondering if the much talked about “gameplay over IP” will be utilized to make old games playable. Such a feature will allow players to play the games without needing to download it as a cloud hosting server will be the platform for the game.
While it might sound technologically advance, Gameplay Over IP is strictly for old PS3 games and will not be offering titles from both the PS1 and PS2. Instead, games from the first and second generation Playstation will take the old route where it will be converted to ROMS and played through an emulator.
This was done before with the PS3 but the quality of the game got affected. With the PS4 high specifications, there are doubts to whether the old games are compatible with the console. The only way for Sony to pull this off is through implementing some great HD Remasters.
Fans need not worry as Sony will be able to deliver its word. The PC itself is able to create a Playstation emulator and the PS4 should do one better.
