Despite the sizzling rumours about Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao showdown this year, Stephen Espinoza Showtime Network Broadcast executive believes that the fight will never happen.
There is a promotional conflict with Top Rank Promotions. As long as Manny Pacquiao is under contract with Top Rank Promotions, managed by Bob Arum, the fight is not going to happen explained Espinoza.
Further more, there is more to boxing and promotional dispute between top Rank Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions/Floyd Mayweather. Richard Schaefer, Golden Boy Promotions Chief Executive Officer stated that he has not interested with anything that has to do with Bob Arum.
“We don’t need Bob Arum. He has nothing left, and you know, we just don’t need to deal with the guy. I have absolutely no interest in that.” Said Schaefer.
Mayweather also had bitter memory with Bob Arum. Mayweather used to be one of Top Rank’s fighters and he had been under the agency for a few years before the tragic split.
“We all know the Pacquiao fight, at this particular time, will never happen, and the reason why the fight won’t happen is because I will never do business with Bob Arum again in life,” Mayweather said.
Mayweather might be fighting against Marcos Maidana or Amir khan. While there is no new information on Pacman-Money May duel. This means Floyd Mayweather’s schedule for 3rd of May is still free.
