The Pokebank failed launch had left the Pokemon population lost and confused as they ponder on the much anticipated application re-release date. It is safe to say that the entire Pokemon community is unhappy with the delay and handful of them is furious with Nintendo.
The biggest fault from the game developer is the fact that they failed to address the fans properly and gave that typical corporate apology. It is simply not enough. Something this big needs a proper and detailed explanation. More importantly, fans need a time frame so as to not being left stranded.
The silence by Nintendo has led some fans to approach them personally via the feedback email. One fan got a response and he is satisfied with it. The person known as ThatHipsterGamer shared Nintendo’s response on Reddit.
Nintendo said:
…you’ll agree that it’s better to have a slight delay than to have a game that doesn’t live up to your expectations”, which managed to calm the fans down.
However, that didn’t last long. It appears that the text in the email is mostly made up of templates from automated response. The Pokebank is an application service which contradicts to the email calling it a game.
Our goal as a publisher and as a developer is to meet a game’s projected release date. However, those plans may be altered for a variety of reasons to ensure that the quality of the game meets our exacting specifications. I’m confident you’ll agree that it’s better to have a slight delay than to have a game that doesn’t live up to your expectations.
These sentences in the email proved that it is automated. On the other hand, it could also be that the employee responding doesn’t have a clue to what the Pokebank is.
It is almost a complete month since the tragic day where Pokebank experienced a failed launch. Nintendo should respond publicly and address the fans accordingly or their image will be badly tarnished.
