Microsoft has been eating the PS4’s dust in the battle of the next-gen console. The fact that the latest Xbox One came out with some disappointing specs made it the target of many criticism. However, Microsoft has one last trick up its sleeve which can be that much needed game changer in the console wars.
If you flip on any major business newspaper today, you will find that Microsoft is attempting to purchase Mojang Studios for a fee of $2billion. If this is to come through, then it will severely hurt the PlayStation community.
For starters, Microsoft could use the award-winning Minecraft game as a bait to sell off the Xbox One. Then again, Microsoft would prefer to harness more profits by selling the game to the PS community.
Rumours further revealed that it was Mojang’s founder, Markus Pearsson, who initiated on the deal after he enjoyed a successful relationship with Microsoft. Other rumours revealed that Pearsson will be forced to step down if the purchase is completed.
Then again, neither Microsoft nor Mojang has addressed the rumours officially. Readers are advised to take the above with a pinch of salt. If the deal is to happen, then Sony will surely have a serious competition ahead.
