Yes we really are putting the 2015 Hyundai Sonata up against the Honda Accord here, but which is going to come out ahead?
Both of these vehicles have the 4 cylinder 2.4 litre engine and this offers 185 horses. There is a weight difference of just 6lbs and a quarter of an inch different for length. The Honda offers CVT and the Hyundai gives you 6 speed automatic.
The Honda Accord does have CVT that is very smooth and you are not going to really notice much difference from the conventional when you have driven it for some time. While the engine of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata is flawless it doesn’t have the same economy. With the Honda Accord you should get about 35mpg when on the highway and around 24mpg when in the city. The Sonata gives around 27mpg in the city and out on the highway this comes in at around 36mpg.
The Sonata will age well thanks to the sheet metal and there is a lot of room in the car, however the Honda Accord does beat it. The cabin of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata is great looking and all of the controls are easy to reach. The Sonata does offer more than what you get with the Honda Accord, such as the heated front bucket seating and the panoramic sunroof. However what let it down is the hard plastics in the cabin and the centre stack which comes with features that are not that well fitted.
The Honda Accord does have a cabin that is well laid out and it does offer you two displays for looking as navigation and listening to audio. The cabin is comfortable and it does happen to be user friendly but the speedometer is blocked by the steering wheel.
The 2015 Hyundai Sonata comes with a price tag of $21, 960 while you can get the Honda Accord for about $22, 745. The Accord EX-L comes with a price tag of $30, 835 and for this you get navigation while for $32, 385 you can get the Hyundai Sonata Limited edition.
The 2015 Hyundai Sonata cannot beat the Honda Accord thanks to it having a price tag that is higher, while the cabin doesn’t offer the same comfort and the efficiency isn’t as good. However there isn’t much to choose between them.
