The original iOS 8.1 from Apple might be great but the Wi-Fi isn’t worth bragging about. This is because the system runs on Apple’s Wireless Direct Link (AWDL) that is basically a low latency and high-speed Wi-Fi that is used with AirDrop, GameKit and AirPlay.
The issue here is that this often results in a lower speed connection with the Wi-Fi. The problem is also present, even when iPhone users jailbreak their device.
Today, however, it is a totally different story. Ciabarra has just developed a new Cydia tweak that will ensure a full speed Wi-Fi performance for the jailbreak users. The Tweak is called WiFried and it will disable the unneeded connected system.
When installed, WiFried can be found at the control panel and can be enabled, as well as disabled there.
