After a long wait, the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat is finally out for HTC One and with it came improvements to the phone’s security and cloud printing ability.
In Canada, both the HTC One and One Mini on Bell, Telus, Virgin, Wind, Rogers and Sasktel are preparing to roll out the Kitkat to their respective HTC One users.
Over at the US, the Kitkat is already rolling out OTA. This includes US carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. The HTC One Sense international will soon follow suit.
Other HTC devices getting an update are the HTC One X with the Andorid 4.2.2. It is disappointing for a phone that is not even 18 months old to get missed out on the Kitkat. This JellyBean update will be the last one for the One X and will be rolled out around this period as well.
The Kitkat will feature an updated Blinkfeed, Bluetooth profiles, UI changes and the removal of flash support. Of course, the Sense 5.5 will definitely be coming together with the update.
While it all sounds exciting, HTC One owners are more concerned for the device’s camera. The issue where a purple tinge image is always captured has been bugging the users for so long now. The fix was expected coming with the previous JellyBean update but it turns out to be absent. As for the Kitkat, it is still unknown.
Some hinted that the issue is not with the OS but instead, with the HTC One’s hardware. If this is true, HTC One owners should act quickly by visiting their nearest service centres. On the other hand, owners can also play around with the contrast and saturation on the camera app. It does improve the condition.
