The feature is identical to the ones seen on Sprint about a month ago. The rival company was the first to share the update with its HTC One M8 users. On the other hand, European One M8 users have been enjoying the Extreme Power Saving mode as it is already preloaded on their device.
This special feature will take battery life to a whole new level. The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer claims that only 1% of power will be consumed in 3 hours when the One M8 is in the Extreme Power Saving mode.
The feature is the latest trend in the smartphone industry and was made famous by the Samsung Galaxy S5 which came with the Ultra Power Saving Mode.
Other perks that arrived with the KitKat update are the fixes to the bugs that prevented users from accessing their free 50GB Google Drive storage. On top of that, more camera features have been added to the HTC One M8.
The KitKat is released in phases. HTC One M8 users on AT&T will receive a notification when it is available for them. On the other hand, users can manually check for the KitKat by going through the Software Update option on their device’s settings.
