Google Nexus 8: What We Know So Far

Google has been known to name their products after sealife, the Nexus 4 was the Mako, while the Nexus 10 was Manta, the Nexus 5 was hammerhead.

Now according to the Android Open Source Project a device with the name of Flounder has shown up and it is related to HTC. This could be confirmation that HTC has been chosen to deliver the next Nexus.

Members of the XDA Developers looked into it more and while the source code does not offer any more new details, it does us a good idea about what Google may be doing next with the Nexus program.

Analysts had said that Google could move from 7 inch devices to 8 inch ones so that they could explore more opportunities. The 7 inch tablet sector has been saturated with competition, while there are not that many gone into the 8 inch sector.

At the moment Google are keeping quiet, with some analysts saying that they will continue to do so until the I/O.
