The 2016 Honda Accord will be coming in with a 2.4-liter engine that will be mated to a CVT. The fact is that CVT have come a long way since it was first introduced years ago and the CVT we have in the Honda Accord right now is as reliable as ever but that does not mean that their customers are ready to put their fate on it.
While come automaker had tried to use the CVT on their high output engine like a V6, Honda mostly fitted their CT with inline 4 engine and so far, it has been working out for them.
Many customers have also reported that the newer CVT has a lower failure rate but there are other that would gladly go for the auto transmission or the manual transmission instead of the CVT.
Do you think the fear is justified? Would you choose a CVT over the standard transmission options?
