It looks as though Ford are turning their backs on Microsoft as they have chosen to go with Blackberry instead to develop the Sync 3.
The Blackberry QNX OS is going to be behind the Sync 3 to come out in future but Microsoft are going to be doing the updates for Sync 3 for the moment but updates in the future will come from Blackberry. It will remain on the Azure Cloud servers of Microsoft though and be transmitted to the Sync 3 system.
Microsoft still plays a part in Sync 3 getting WiFi connectivity and Sync 3 is in the final stages of being developed and should be coming out next year.
The MyFord Touch system is going to be taken over by a brand new infotainment system and this is going to be coming out on the Ford and Lincoln vehicles for 2016.
