All fans dream of the day when a new Supra would step into the track to face the Mazda RX-9 but that dream will never come true in the near future as Mazda made it clear that they are not building a new RX-9 model.
Fans had their hopes up when Mazda announce that they have a team of engineers working on a new rotary engine. Since a new rotary engine normally means a new Mazda RX-9, the fans assume that that was going to happen next.
However, Mazda later announces that they have no plans to build a new sports car that is larger than the Mazda MX-5. That confirms that the RX-9 will not be happening. As much as we would like to see the vehicle make a comeback, there are some that think that Mazda might have already moved on.
Do you think Mazda made the right move with the RX-9?
