When Mazda announce that they were going to give the Mazda CX-5 an upgrade, there were reports saying that the Mazda CX-5 might be entering the market as a premium model.
While the 2017 model was given a long list of upgrades, it looks like it will not be entering the premium market for the time being. Mazda has yet to announce the price of the CX-5 here in the US but the price for the Japan version was release. With a price tag of $20,800, it looks like the CX-5 will be remaining in their segment for a little longer.
However, that does not mean that there is nothing to get excited about. Mazda announces that the Mazda CX-5 will be coming in with a diesel engine option. The diesel model will be powered by a 2.0-liter SkyActiv-D engine that will be offering about 155PS when it arrives.
The Mazda CX-5 was also given an exterior and interior upgrade for 2017.
