The 2017 Mazda CX-5 was given an upgrade for this year but it definitely did not get the update that we thought it would. Before the Mazda CX-5 was unveiled, there were talks about the Mazda CX-5 possibly coming in as a premium model as it is believed that Mazda is looking to push some of their models in the premium market.
If that is the case, the Mazda CX-5 would be the perfect model but based on the retail price of the 2017 Mazda CX-5 in Japan, it looks like that did not happen.
Although Mazda has not revealed the selling price of the device here in the US, the Mazda CX-5 price was announced in Japan. The Mazda CX-5 would retail for $20,800 in Japan.
That means the Mazda CX-5 will retain its position in the market for now.
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 base model will be powered by a 2.0 liter SkyActiv-G engine that will deliver 155PS and 196Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission.
