Towards the end of summer, Chevrolet is going to launch the next-gen Chevrolet Volt and the vehicle has the prospect of becoming the leading car in the hybrid segment.
At the moment, this particular market is being dominated by Japanese giants like the hybrids from Honda, the Nissan Leaf and also the Toyota Prius. Perhaps, this explains why the future Volt has a lot of Japanese influence to it.
If you are to check out the released images of the next-gen Volt, you will notice that the car looks a lot like the latest Honda Civic. This is except for the front grille which really looks ugly if paired with a dark colour.
As for the performance, the Chevrolet Volt is going to offer at least 420 miles in driving range. On electric motors alone, the car is going to achieve at least 106mpge. This is really impressive and there is no doubt the car is going to create new benchmarks in the world of hybrid.
Even so, there are still many haters round still thinking that the best hybrid is with the Toyota Prius and Nissan Leaf. Perhaps if Chevrolet is to be a Japanese carmaker, it might receive a different treatment. Then again, it is not.
