Porsche upset a lot of purists when they decided to mess around with the engine of the Porsche 911 GTS model but they are trying to make up for it by offering their customers a stick to drive with.
Porsche reveals that the 2017 Porsche 911 GTS engine will be replaced with the new turbo engine that the Carrera S is using right now. The 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine could offer about 420hp on the Carrera S which means we can expect it to deliver more than 420hp when the Porsche 911 GTS arrives.
According to Porsche, the main reason why switched out the engine was so that the vehicle can have more power to offer. The new engine is also lighter and more fuel efficient. Going turbo might not be the most favorable decision Porsche has made but their decision to offer the 911 GTS with a stick transmission might be.
